Kiya & Davian :: Family Shoot

Last weekend I met up with Kiya and Davian and their parents for some family photos in Oceanside. Kiya is 5, and Davian is 7 months. Their family was absolutely adorable - scroll down and you can see for yourself :)

Warning: This blog post ended up being super-long because I loved so many of their images, and wanted to share them all with you!

Here's a few (OK, quite a few...) of my favorites...

I love the next few of Kiya.

Apparently, this is what was going on during Mom & Dad's mini-shoot....it took a while to brush all that sand off!

We ended with a few more family ones. Luis was a wonderful artist and drew the heart for us!

Israel, Regina, and Keaira :: Family Shoot

I met up with Regina and her husband Israel, and their 4 month old daughter Keaira at the beach in Oceanside for some Christmas pictures last weekend. It was a little chilly, but Keaira was a good sport and even flashed a few smiles for me :)

Here are a few of my favorites from the night...

Jaylen :: Child Portraits

Last week I met up with Jaylen and his mom, Keyonna for some Christmas portraits of him. Jaylen took a while to warm up, but by the time the session was wrapping up he had a hard time letting me out of the house :)

This is his "pirate smile".

You might also notice my new watermark - thanks to the wonderfully talented Joanna! She designed my logo as well, and does amazing work. You can check out her work at DizzyDayDream.com Thanks again, Joanna!

Andrew, Justine, & Parker :: Family Shoot

Parker was back in town visiting his dad, Andrew, and step-mom, Justine this weekend so we took that opportunity to get some family pictures of them together for the holidays.

Parker is probably one of the most imaginative and energetic children I've had the chance to be around. He's been on a dinosaur kick lately, so all the palm trees are "dinosaur trees". He kept looking for dinosaurs all around San Diego throughout the shoot :) It was a blast to spend some more time with him.

We started off with some of him alone - I love the variety of backgrounds I found!

Love the hands on the hips!

He loves his step-mom so much!

2009 Marine Corps Birthday Ball

Yesterday marked the 234th Birthday Ball for the United States Marine Corps. For those of you who are not military, this event is a black-tie function to celebrate the formation and traditions of the Corps. My husband was deployed for the ball last year, so I was looking forward to celebrating this year with him.

Here's a few pictures from the night -

My husband Patrick is the 4th one all the way down!

I snuck up to get a closer photo of him. He stood without moving for over an hour and 15 minutes - pretty impressive, huh?

This is the table that is set up in honor of those Marines who have passed on. The table is set, but left untouched all night. The wine cup is also upside down to symbolize that they will not be drinking with us tonight.

Here's one of my husband and I that I had a friend take with my P&S.

Happy Birthday, Marines! Thank you to all those who have served, and are currently serving.
