Heidi & Jimmy :: Deployment

Heidi's husband Jimmy deployed to Afghanistan yesterday, and I was privileged to be present to take some images of them together before he left.

Unfortunately, as the Marine Corps does, they changed the leave time about 5 times (and had everyone waiting around 10 hours), so I was not able to be present as the busses pulled away. Heidi was actually happy about that because she preferred to have pictures of them looking as happy as possible. As she put it,"Hours later you would have captured a lot of pain and sadness, and quite frankly that is so rarely us...".

Makaylin & Ryker :: Family Shoot

On Saturday I headed up north to Dana Point to meet Makaylin and Ryker, 4-month old twins, along with their parents for a family shoot. I'd never been up to Dana Point before, but it was gorgeous - what a cute little town.

This is Makaylin. I got to learn about her unique name too - it's a combination of two of their favorites.



And this is Ryker. What a cutie!



Unfortunately, Ryker couldn't sit up too well yet. We tried a few, but most ended up like this - one would just grab the other and they'd both head down.

They were definitely ready to head home at the end. I think both had fallen asleep by the time we reached the cars.

Kaleda & Shawn :: Engagement Shoot

Last weekend I met up with Kaleda and Shawn for their engagement shoot in La Jolla. They drove all the way out from Ramona, and I was a little nervous when I got a phone call that it was "super foggy". Luckily, by the time I got down there the fog had dissipated a bit and you could actually see more than 10 feet in front of you :)

Jennifer & Chris :: Maternity Shoot

Jennifer and Chris met up with me for a maternity shoot in beautiful La Jolla Sunday afternoon. You'd never know it was getting to be fall with how many tourists were still down there - it was crazy busy.

Jennifer is pregnant with her first child (or children, as the case may be) - twin girls! They are due right after Christmas.

Cydnee & David :: Engagement Shoot

Last Saturday I met up with Cydnee and David at the pier in Oceanside for their engagement shoot! They will be married in June of 2010. This couple also didn't mind getting wet, which made the last few images of the shoot extra cool :)

Paige Elizabeth :: Newborn Shoot

I was so beyond excited to meet Paige this past Monday. It seems like forever ago that my friend Marissa told me she was pregnant with their first child, and you might remember seeing her maternity photos back in August. Paige made an appearance last Friday, so she was barely 3 days old at the time of the shoot.

It's obvious how in love Marissa and her husband Jordan are with Paige.

Congratulations again, Marissa & Jordan! I am so happy for you both. You are going to make wonderful parents!
